Ring of Envy: 6th-30th June 2018
7.30pm, Wednesdays to Saturdays, at St Saviour’s Church, Walton Place, London SW3 1SA
Join us for a ringside seat as we explore the themes of jealousy, manipulation and revenge.
Ring of Envy tells the story of Othello, a highly esteemed boxer at ‘The Ring Youth Club’. The Championships are fast approaching and Othello chooses Michael Cassio – over his ambitious best friend Iago – to be his corner man. This sends Iago into a rage of jealousy. And so begins an evil and malicious campaign against Othello which leads to tragic ends.
Each performance is followed by a Talk Back – your opportunity to ask cast members about the production and Intermission Youth Theatre.
Celebrations with Patron Mark Rylance & Friends
Benefit night raises money for Intermission Youth Theatre
A truly memorable night was held at the exquisite Two Temple Place on London’s Embankment, as our Patron Mark Rylance, Artistic Director Darren Raymond and graduates Tammi and Yung, led us through an evening exploring Shakespeare, language, the continuing relevance of the Bard and the impact Intermission Youth Theatre has had on their lives.
Thank you to Mark and everyone who came and supported this event, which was held as part of the 10th Anniversary celebrations of Intermission Youth Theatre.
“What a night to remember!”
“These wonderful young people have never ceased to delight and amaze me.” Mark Rylance
Naomie Harris - new Patron at Intermission
We are thrilled that award-winning actress Naomie Harris has become a Patron of Intermission, alongside Oscar-winning actor Mark Rylance.
Naomie, who played Eve Moneypenny in the James Bond films Skyfall and Spectre and received critical acclaim for her performance in last year’s film Moonlight, was blown away by IYT’s production of Double Trouble!
“I think the work Intermission does is phenomenal and I am so impressed by the amount of talent and commitment from the members,” she said.
Our Artistic Director Darren Raymond says, “We are thrilled that Naomie is supporting us in this, our tenth anniversary of IYT. She is a fantastic role model, offering inspiration to our young people.”
Double Trouble: IYT's production 2017
“Inspiring“ “Insightful production“ “One of the best Youth Theatre shows I’ve seen“
“Intermission Youth Theatre has done it again. Double Trouble is a brilliant, hilarious, imaginative adaptation of Shakespeare’s The Comedy of Errors. I think you will love it.” Mark Rylance

Intermission Youth Theatre partners with the Royal Shakespeare Company
Our friends at The Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC) have chosen us to be their London based theatre for their exciting Associate Schools Programme. The ASP is the RSC’s long-term partnership programme with schools, communities and theatres across England, helping teachers and young people experience, engage with and take ownership of the work of Shakespeare.
